A Quick Guide to Picking Your Corset Size:
A corset's size is based on the measurement of a closed corset (laced closed with no gap) at the waist tape, in inches. For example a size 18 corset has a waist tape measuring 18". We recommend that customers using centimeters cross-reference their waist measurement in inches to figure out their corset sizes.
As a rule of thumb for our Classic Corset styles, we generally recommend a 6 inch (15cm) difference between your natural waist measurement and your corset size for a comfortable fit with a reasonable gap width. If you choose a corset size that is the same number as your waist measurement, the corset will not be able to cinch, and will sit very loose on the body.
For example; for a 30" (76cm) waist, we typically recommend a size 24'' corset. This formula works for about 90% of people. However, this can vary person to person depending on your personal level of "squish" (how much you can cinch down by comfortably). For some people who have a natural waist that is 26" (66cm) in circumference or smaller, we would recommend closer to a 4'' (10cm) difference between waist and corset size.
For some styles we might recommend a size that is different from your regular corset size, such as the Madeline which uses letter sizing and is meant to be worn with a narrow gap, or the Myrtle, for which we recommend a corset size that is 10'' (25cm) down from your natural waist measurement.
Some corset styles may require alterations to better fit your body shape. This is normal, as corset shapes vary a lot over the decades, and are meant to emulate all kinds of people shapes on different bodies! We are happy to offer alterations to make the corset a little bit more *you*.
