A gorgeous design made explicitly for the queen of burlesque – Dita Von Teese!

When Dita contacted us many years ago after seeing a photo of a tiny, doll-sized corset we had made in raspberry silk, we were thrilled to reproduce the exact same corset in her measurements. Named appropriately as The Doll corset, it was only natural that this pattern would be a staple in our custom closet to reproduce for the right client.

Unique to our other corset designs, the Doll is purposely made with built-in garters and is intended to be worn with stockings. Silk or satin ribbon covered garters and decorative bows are optional, as we can simplify them to fit your needs.

Regarding the construction of the corset, the Doll has a total of 20 spring steel bones, many of them in clusters of 2 (notably at the front and back of the corset). One gusset in each breast and two gussets at each back hip gives this pattern a total of 6 gussets, which help shape, exaggerate and support. Two bias seams curve and meet at the front of the corset, forming a defined point just below the end of the busk. Seams and gussets work to exaggerate the form and well as keep its shape comfortably.

This unique pattern would be a wonderful bridal and honeymoon corset, intended as an undergarment hiding under the dress and to be revealed later after the ceremony. Imagine it in duchess silk, peau de soie or a silk brocade fabric – just beautiful! If desired, the Doll can be made in coutil, cotton sateen, broche coutil or leather – the choice is yours!
